A/N: T___T please forgive me for late update! as i'm typing this, i predicted that i'll make another late update, so i'm already apologizing ahead if time. (that's harsh!) Well, Enjoy!!

Chapter 4 - DansuMahou

For the remaining week, the boys were to stay at Ogura-san's safe house. Sho and the others waited desperately for Sakurai Shun's owl, but three days had gone by without any notice. Ohno stopped talking with the others, and he would stay still for hours on end, gazing into the distance. Sho and Aiba would disappear and hide somewhere around Ogura-san large house. On one occasion, Jun walked by their room and heard strange sounds that sounded like kissing...

Ogura-san was busy maintaining his ramen shop, but he never failed to make them laugh. He seem to enjoy living a happy life without magic and did things in a very Muggle style. Thanks to Ogura's potion, Jun regained his strength and wanted to repay him back by helping around the shop. But Ogura warned them it's best to stay inside the house in case they get attacked again.

The only person Jun could talk to was Nino. He was ignoring Ohno for quite sometime that even Jun felt awkward. But these days, Jun has gotten used to Nino's presence as they laze around in a spare bedroom.

"How much longer?" Nino sighed, rubbing his eyes.

"I don't know. We'll have to pack our things and head for Platform Nine and Three Quarters soon," Jun said, laying on his back and staring at the ceiling fan. "But Sho and the others don't look so motivated to go yet."

"Can you blame them?" Nino said. "SIN invaded Ohno's house and we still haven't heard a word."

"I don't understand why they would invade," Jun brought up. "They know they're no match against the Vocal Wizards."

"Really?" Nino said, rolling to his belly. "From the way I see it, I think there's a limit."

Jun stared back at Nino. Now that he thought about it, Jun did remember the battle he saw with Sho and Ohno against a few SIN wizards. Ohno was surrounded by muddy water, which should be enough for him. And yet the wizard masterly dodged his attacks. And Sho's fire moves were cancelled out without a problem.

"But they took down a freakin' dragon, remember?" Jun exaggerated.

"Of course I remember," Nino frowned. "But their eyes and hair were glowing. They were at their full power."

Jun blinked. "Are you saying...?"

"I'm only guessing, but I think there are limits to their powers," Nino said.

"So then..." Jun mumbled. Suddenly, the door slid open and both Sho and Aiba marched in, arms around each other. Grinning like the idiots they were.

"You two look swell," Nino sneered, his eyebrow raised.

"My dad sent a letter!" Sho announced, holding up a piece of parchment. Jun and Nino sprang to their feet.

"Really?! What does it say?" Jun asked. Sho read the letter out loud.

" 'Sho, everyone is okay here. As soon as the SIN realized the Vocal Wizards were missing, they left immediately. Tsukumo, Hong Man, Naruse, and I went after them but we lost them. Headmaster Johnny suspects SIN doesn't know where the remaining Talismans are, so we should relax for a while. In the meantime, you all must stay in school even on holidays for safety measures.' "

"Seriously?!" Nino complained.

" 'The Ohno Estate is fine. Please tell Satoshi that his family is safe and will be staying at a safe location under the Elites protection. And they want to tell Satoshi not to worry about them. Sho, it is the utmost importance you and the boys remain a low profile. I will connect if anything turns up. Dad.' " Sho finished.

"Well, that's good," Jun nodded.

"But now we have no more leads," Sho sighed. "If SIN has no idea where the other Talismans are, then we could be waiting for years until something comes up."

"Personally, I think that's a good thing," Nino mumbled quietly.

The four boys remained quiet and absorbed in their own thoughts. Jun stared at each one of them, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything. Jun could tell them all what he knows. He could tell that there really is only one Talisman left. He could tell them he's being threaten by Tamaki. He could...

'Why not?' Jun thought. 'They can help me!'

Jun opened his mouth, but he couldn't utter a word afterward. Instead, a strange feeling flowed through his body. It was different from Tamaki's Cruciatus Curse. It was like Jun lost his energy. He felt faint and numb. He leaned against the wall for support.

"Jun!" Nino panicked. "Jun, are you okay?"

"Matsujun, what's wrong?!" Sho asked, feeling Jun's forehead. "You're growing pale! What's wrong?!"

"I-I'll go get Ohno. Maybe he can heal you," Aiba said. In a blink of an eye, Aiba disappeared.

Jun thought the room was growing dark.

'What's happening to me?!' Jun's mind racing. 'What's going on?!'

Then, the feeling stopped. Jun blinked a couple of times before he slowly stood up straight again. He felt his heart beating fast, and the cold sweat on his scalp as he ran his fingers through his hair.

'What just happened?' Jun thought. Just then, Aiba reappeared with Ohno who was levitating a ball of water.

"Heh? You're okay?" Aiba asked, looking confused.

Without asking, Ohno split the floating orb of clear water into two and placed them next to Jun's temples. It was a soothing feeling like Jun was getting a gentle massage. Ohno closed his eyes in concentration, but then opened his eyes looking confused.

"There's nothing wrong," Ohno concluded. "What happened?"

"I just...lost my strength all of a sudden," Jun explained.

"It was scary," Nino admitted. "It looked like your life was drained."

"Huh?" Jun thought his heart stopped.

"Well, you look fine," Ohno said. "Maybe it was a sudden fluke."

"Y-yeah..." Jun nodded, touching his head again.

"Hmm? What is that?" Sho asked, pointing at Jun's hand. "Is that a new ring of yours?"

"O-oh!" Jun gaped. "Oh, t-this?"

"I didn't know you wear rings," Nino said, looking suspicious.

"W-what? I like wearing r-rings," Jun lied. "Do you like it?"

"Meh," Nino shrugged.

"Ah, Ohno. I was going to tell you, I finally got a letter from my dad," Sho changed subjects. Ohno immediately snatched the letter from his hand.

He read it to himself, and his tensed shoulders relaxed as he read the last sentence. But Jun's mind raced with different thoughts. He glanced down at his cursed skill ring. Its menacing eyes glared at him.

'Did it just,' Jun thought, 'drained my life?!'

*           *           *

Jun gazed out the window and watched the landscape zoomed by. The sky looked like it was about to rain, which suited Jun's mood at the moment. He and the boys finally boarded onto the Hogwarts Express and were on their way back to school. But the atmosphere in their compartment was less than enthusiasm.

Ohno, Sho, and Aiba sat very still and remained quiet for a long time. Their blank stares focused on the floor; their bodies swayed and breathed in and out at the same time.

Nino and Jun tried to bring them to talk or start a conversation, but their efforts were fruitless as the three Vocal Wizards talked via through telepathy. In the end, Nino and Jun stopped talking as well and the long silence painfully dragged on.

Jun had mentally prepare himself for this trip. Ever since that sudden attack from his cursed ring, he has been extra careful on what he was thinking, especially when he's around the Vocal Wizards. The last thing he wanted was for them to read his yapping mind and find out about his deal with Tamaki. And if the worst comes, the ring will drain more of his life if he so much thinks of the idea telling them about his cursed ring.

So he busied his mind by looking at the scenery and only the scenery. He would stare at the fields flashing by and wonder what he'll be like as a farmer instead of a wizard. He started to think if the sky will get darker in ten minutes He even counted all the way to 503. Jun slowly trained his mind to think of other things without once recalling his cursed ring or any business with the Vocal Wizards.

But occasionally, his forced thoughts grew tired...

'What are they thinking or talking about now?' Jun thought, side glancing at Ohno across from him. 'Are they reading our minds now?'

Just then, Ohno's eyes met Jun's. He went stiff for a moment, and then he felt a chill run through his body as Ohno wouldn't stop staring. Jun gulped, not sure what to do next. For a moment, Jun thought he saw a flash of blue flicker in Ohno's eyes. He couldn't stand it anymore.

Jun stood up and made his way to the compartment door.

"Where are you going?" Nino asked. Somehow, Jun knew Nino meant to say, 'Don't leave me.'

"To find something to eat," Jun answered bluntly and shut the door behind him.

He was finally able to breath.

Jun walked down the long train cart and entering the next one and the next, not really going anywhere in particular. All he wanted to do was get away from that stifling compartment.

"This is too much," Jun sighed, leaning against a door. "I'll grow a bald spot with all this thinking."

"Jun?" A familiar voice called him.

The door across from him opened and Inoue Mao appeared. Jun relaxed immediately.

"Mao," he sighed.

"Mao-chan, who is it?" A girl asked from inside her compartment. "Your boyfriend?"

"Uh," Mao uttered. Jun stuck his head inside the compartment and gave his best charming smile.

"Excuse me, let me take my 'princess' away for awhile," Jun nodded, and grabbed Mao's wrist.

"Jun, wait a minute." Mao gasped, but Jun pulled her away and started walking down the cart. He looked through each window, hoping to find an empty compartment to use. Finally, at the end of the train cart, there was one empty room left. Jun opened the door and shut it closed behind them.

"Sorry about that," Jun huffed from walking fast. "I just wanted us to be alone for a while."

Mao didn't look so pleased.

"You didn't had to be so rough," Mao pouted, crossing her arms. "And not to mention, I was waiting for you back when we were boarding the train, but I didn't see you."

"Sorry, I-"

"Oh, whatever," she sighed and sat down. "So what's wrong? You looked so depressed."

Jun slowly sat next to her, his arm automatically draped over her shoulders. His tensed shoulders finally relaxed and he laid his head back.

"A lot has happened," Jun said.

"The Vocal Wizards?" She asked. Jun just nodded.

"I'm surprised you remember," Jun said. "I told you so much last year, I'd thought you wouldn't believe me."

"I would never doubt you," Mao said. "Besides, you looked like you wanted to tell someone about your troubles. So, I'm hear to listen."

"You're too nice, Mao-chan," Jun chuckled. "Well, I don't know where to start."

"Is this about the Ohno Family Disappearance?" Mao brought up. Jun went stiff and sat up more.

"Where did you hear about that?!" Jun asked.

"I-It was all over the Daily Prophet about a week ago," Mao explained, looking stunned. "Apparently, the Ohno Estate was attacked, and the Ohno family went missing."

"Oh," Juns relaxed again. "That's probably what the media coverage is saying. But really, Ohno's family is fine. They are safe with the Elites protection."

"But what happened?"

"SIN came and invaded the Ohno Estate," Jun said, and Mao gasped. "They were looking for Ohno, Sho, and Aiba."

"Oh my gosh," she whispered. "They're not coming to Hogwarts, are they? SIN, I mean."

Jun grasped her hand.

"Don't worry," he said. "Half the teachers at Hogwarts are part of the Elites. We'll be safe. And even if something bad happens, I'll protect you."

She blushed and gave a sheepish smile. She rested her head on his shoulder, and they stayed like that way for the rest of the trip. The silence wasn't awkward or mind exhausting like it was with boys. Jun could relax with Mao.

'I trust you, Mao-chan,' Jun thought.

He stared down at their hands overlapping each other. Jun's eyes strayed to his curse ring.

'That's weird,' Jun thought. 'I'm telling Mao-chan information...but the ring won't attack me. Why?'

*        *        *

"Where did you go?" Ohno asked, sitting in the Great Hall. Professor Domyouji Kaede called the new first years to be sorted as always, and everyone sat in their respective house tables.

"I was with Mao-chan," Jun shrugged, his eyes on the new students.

"Heh. You tap that, didn't ya?" Ohno chuckled, poking at Jun's side. Jun hated when people do that.

"Idiot! No way I'd do it in a train compartment," Jun hissed.

A new student joined the Slytherins and proudly walked across the teacher's table to sit with his new house mates. Jun frowned as his eyes wondered to Naruse Ryo.

"Hey, do you think Naruse looks different?" Jun brought up.

Ohno stuck out his lower lip. "How so?"

"He doesn't look well," Jun said, noticing Naruse's frown on his forehead.

"To me, that's his normal face," Ohno shrugged. "Well...his skin does look darker than usual."

"Come on, seriously?" Jun titled his head. "He looks worried about something."

"Well, I'd love to read his mind, but he's too far away. Plus it's too noisy hear, I can't even read your mind," Ohno confessed, rubbing his ear.

"Really?" Jun mumbled.

Finally, the last student joined the Gryffindors, and the food magically appeared before them. Ohno mindlessly grabbed what he liked, and Jun ate until he was satisfied. For a moment, his full belly made him happy as well as sleepy. All the mind games he played back in the train had exhausted him completely.

Then, Headmaster Johnny stood up and everyone went silent.

"Good evening everyone," Professor Johnny greeted. "Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts. I only have one news to share with you all and it's very good news. After a large student demand from last year, I proudly announce bringing back the tradition of the school's Yule Ball."

An exciting murmur spread across the Great Hall.

"It was traditionally a dance with other boarding schools. But since so many students voted for Hogwarts to have their own ball, I'm allowing it to come back and it'll be renamed as the Dear Snow Dance. The dance will be on the first of December, so I hope that you all come. Thank you, and good night."

The students immediately started chatting again, especially the girls huddling together and giggling. Everyone slowly left the Great Hall as the Head Boys and Girls showed the first years their new dormitories.

"I can't believe this," Ohno sighed. "A ball? Seriously?! Why during this year of all years?"

"I don't see what's wrong with a ball," Jun mumbled, his eyes wondering over to Mao-chan.

"Easy for you because you have a girlfriend," Ohno pouted. "Sho is very popular. Aiba is easy to talk with. Nino is bisexual. But I'm just a quiet, shy, pudgy-faced boy."

Jun laughed.

"If it'll make you feel any better, I'll ask Mao-chan if she knows anyone," Jun said. "Besides, you can always use your mesmerizing voice to lure in the girls."

"I'm not really into that," Ohno sighed.

"Maybe you'll re-think that once we start our first DansuMahou class!" Jun said. Ohno perked up.

"Oh! I totally forgot!" Ohno nodded, finally looking excited and energized for the first time. "We can take DansuMahou! Yes!"

"We both have it first thing tomorrow," Jun said, looking at his schedule. "With...all boys? Huh, what does that mean?"

"All the boys in our year," Ohno explained. "DansuMahou for males is different than females. After all, it's got to do with movement, right? The female body works and moves different than a male."

"Ah, that makes sense," Jun nodded.

"And then there's collab work with female and male DansuMahou, but we probably won't touch that until later." Ohno said.

"Shucks, I was hoping I'd DansuMahou with Mao-chan," Jun chuckled.

"Damn, lover boy," Ohno grunted.

*        *        *

Jun felt hot. His surroundings were blurry and all he could see was a wide bridge. He ran down the long bridge for what felt like forever. Then, he spotted Nino ahead of him at a huge gate, waving at him as if he was leading the way.

Jun hurried to meet up, but Nino disappeared behind a large wall. Jun walked pass the gate and found a long set of stairs waiting for him. Jun began to climb without stopping. He felt that if he didn't stop, he'll lose something important.

One thing he noticed was the steps were really steep and bumpy. He could feel they were made out of stone.

Finally, he reached the top of the stairs and ran down the dark and rough hallway. It was also made of stone. Jun saw Nino ahead of  him again. Nino pushed a large stone tablet aside to reveal a hidden door way, and the stairs leading down into the darkness.

Jun heard screaming. Their voices sound familiar...

"Wah!" Jun gasped. His breathing was fast, and his sheets felt cold from his sweat. He relaxed as he realized he was still in school and in bed. "That dream again..."

"Hmmm, Matsujun?" Ohno mumbled. "Are you awake?"

"Y-yeah," Jun mumbled. "Just a bad dream."

"Heh? Ohno, did you get any sleep?" Jun asked.

"I didn't sleep at all," Ohno answered simply, his eyes wide open and staring back at Jun.

"O-oh," Jun mumbled. "Eh...w-we should probably get ready for class."

"Yeah...class," Ohno nodded, already out of bed.

They washed up and dressed into their school uniforms. The school was still excited from last night's announcement of the new Dear Snow Dance. The girls travelled in groups, and the guys looked even more lonely than ever by themselves.

Even the live paintings gossiped about the dance.

"Ugh!" Ohno moaned, covering his ears. "Was the school always this noisy?"

"Ohno," Jun frowned sadly.

They finally arrived in the classroom just before the bell rang. The room was a large dance room with mirrors and ballet bars. All the boys from the fourth year were excited about their new class. Some even attempt to show off a few dance moves themselves, but Jun felt no magic expelling out. The teacher wasn't in the classroom yet.

"This is great!" Aiba smiled. Sho and Nino right behind him. "We're all in a class together."

"Do you know who the professor is?" Jun asked. Sho just shrugged.

Just then, the door swung open and hit against the wall loudly. The boys jumped, and a goofy-looking teacher greeted them. His huge smile spread across his face as he walked briskly towards the front.

"Good morning! Good morning!" He greeted a bit too loud. "Welcome, welcome!"

"Uhh, how annoying," Nino complained under his breath.

"Welcome, boys, to DansuMahou. The study of magic movement or Dance Magic," he smiled. "My name is Professor Sato Ryuta and throughout this year, I will teach you DansuMahou."

"He's a cheery character," Sho mumbled. Aiba snickered.

"DansuMahou is fairly new, actually," Professor Ryuta started, pulling out his wand. "The study of it, I mean. But the practice of it has been used for many generations. DansuMahou can be traced back to ancient civilizations when tribes performed dance rituals."

He swished his wand, and a great puff of white clouds hovered over their heads. They watched as shadows danced inside the clouds as if they were watching a movie. Ryuta continued his lecture.

"Soon, wizards learned that movement played a vital role in performing magic. Such as wand movements and the stirring direction of potions."

Professor Ryuta moved to the center, looking off into the distance, and his hand placed over his heart. His face was still smiling, and his voice grew louder and being overly passionate.

"When wizards combined music and magic movement, they realized the great potential it contains! DansuMahou back then was used for ceremonies and rituals. But now in the modern era, it is used for pure entertainment. But you boys will learn that magical movement of the body is more than for fun and games. But an art form!"

"Professor!" Sho's hand shot up right away.

Professor Ryuta looked flustered for being interrupted. "Y-yes?"

"Isn't DansuMahou just a way to seduce someone?" Sho said, frowning. "I mean, it's just a way for hot male celebrity wizards to draw in fangirls."

"W-well," Ryuta stuttered. "T-they do use it for that purpose. To draw attention is one reason DansuMahou is used. But this class will not teach you to seduce people! No, no, my boy! This class will teach you to...charm people!"

"Is he an idiot?" Sho uttered quietly. This time, Nino tried to suppress his laugh.

"Now then," Ryuta said, clapping his hands. "Everyone, up against the wall. Hurry up, hurry up. Good. Now, there are countless of different forms of dancing. But since there is a ball coming soon, the first basic dance you will learn is the classical ballet dance."

"Eeehhh!?!" The boys complained.

"That's for girls."

"Do we have to wear tights?"

"Silence!" Professor Ryuta shouted. "You will learn the basics first!"

The boys remained silent.

"Before we can learn the cool moves, you must know how to dance in the first place," Ryuta lectured. "And before you even start to add in the magic, you must learn how to move you body first! How are you suppose to write a novel if you can't read? How can you live if you can't breathe?! It's the same formula!"

"He is an idiot," Jun heard someone whisper. Thankfully, Professor Ryuta didn't hear.

"Okay, young pups," Professor Ryuta resumed back to the lesson. "The positions you must know are very basic. This is called first position, and this is second...third...fourth...and finally fifth. Everyone get to the barre, make sure you find your right height, and do these positions."

The boys slowly, and partly grumbling and complaining, lined up against the ballet bars. Jun realized up close the bars levitated in midair. Everyone had their own barre to hold onto for balance and started trying the basic feet positions.

Everyone but Ohno looked like his mind was somewhere else.

"Excuse me, Ohno Satoshi," Professor Ryuta called. "What are you doing but daydreaming?"

"Huh?" Ohno just answered.

"Ah, you think you're better than these basic positions?" Ryuta started challenging. "Come up here and show us what you can do then, Big Shot-san!"

Everyone went silent and their eyes were on Ohno. He looked flabbergasted, as if he didn't know what he did wrong. He walked up to the front of the class, and Professor Ryuta waved his wand. Suddenly, a melody filled the room, but it was a simple song. Jun didn't felt any intoxication of magic.

Ohno stood there for a quiet moment with his head bowed, just taking in the tempo of the music. Jun watched Ohno's hand tap against his thigh. The boys all watched but looked like they weren't expecting anything. Jun thought so too. After all, they just started learning DansuMahou.

But the look on Nino's face said otherwise. He was smiling...

Then, Ohno lifted up his head. The next thing Jun knew, Ohno ripped the dance floor. His hips were wild, his foot work were fast and matched with the beat. His moves were sharp and accurate. Jun's mouth, and everyone in the room, was hanging open. Their eyes never left Ohno.

Jun suddenly feel the urge to dance as well...

"S-stop! Stop!"  Professor Ryuta interrupted. He waved his wand and the music stopped.

Everyone collapsed on the floor, trying to catch their breath. They were all shocked when they realized they were entranced by Ohno's dancing. Nino chuckled to himself.

"Amazing..." Nino smiled, just staring at the floor. "He's still got it."

Jun stared back and forth between Nino and Ohno. Nino continued smiling to himself as if he was recalling a pleasant memory. Ohno also sat on the floor from dancing too much. The look on his face, however, looked sad.

"Ohno knew how to do DansuMahou?" Jun asked Nino.

"A little," Nino said. "When we were kids, I'd write music and he'd dance and sing them."

Throughout the rest of the lesson, the boys practiced their basic feet positions. But no one got over the adrenaline rush from watching Ohno's dancing. When the bell finally rang, the boys from the other houses dashed out of the classroom to tell their house mates.

"Ohno, you were amazing!" Aiba praised.

"Did you see the way his feet moved?" Sho pointed out. "He was, like, sliding on glass!"

"Ohno, how did you do that?" Aiba asked.

Ohno didn't say anything.

"Ohno?" Jun stared. He had that blank expression on his face. "Are you with us, Ohno?"

"Hmm?" Ohno snapped his head up. "What?"

"Geez, pay attention to us," Sho whined.

"Oh," he replied.

Jun noticed the sad look on Nino's face as well...

"Uh, I have to go," Ohno quickly said. "I'll see you guys later." And he walked away.

"What was that all about?" Aiba titled his head. "Well, Sho and I have Charms together. We'll see you guys later, okay?"

"Sure," Jun nodded. And the two secret boyfriends walked away, arms around each other. "Hey, Nino?"

Nino's eyes were watery.

"N-Nino?" Jun gasped, wondering what happened. "W-what's wrong? You're not gonna cry, are you?"

Nino sniffed.

"Huh?" Nino quickly wiped his eyes. "Oh, it's n-nothing."

"It doesn't look like nothing."

"Well, it's just," Nino sighed, "I haven't seen him dance like that in a long time."

"How long ago was it, then?" Jun asked.

Nino didn't answer right away. His eyes gazed down at the floor again, but Jun knew he was looking deep into the past. The longer they stood there, the more Jun wanted to know what Nino was thinking.

"Nino," Jun spoke. "I know it's none of my business, but what happened back when you and Ohno were just kids?"

Nino gulped. "You don't need to know."

"But whatever happened, it seems like you're still bugged by it," Jun pointed out. "Okay, I'll probably regret saying this but...if you want someone there for you..."

Nino lift his head up.

"Are you saying you'll sleep with me?" Nino asked eagerly.

"No!" Jun retorted. "I'm saying if you want someone to talk to-"

"Oh," Nino drooped his shoulders, disappointed.

"Nino," Jun said, getting back to seriousness. "If you don't mind me asking...why do you have such sad eyes when you're with Ohno?"

Nino took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"If you must know," Nino said. "When we were kids...I, well, that is...I cursed Ohno...once."

"What curse?"

"The Cruciatus Curse."
