Summary: Matsujun is a first year at Hogwarts!
Chapter 2 - First Day
The feast was the first magical meal Jun ever had. The moment Professor Johnny announced dinner, the empty plates magically filled with hot steaming food. When dinner was over the Head Boy, Head Girl, and prefects herded the first years to their new dormitories. Jun felt his jaw drop as he gazed up at the tower of moving staircases and the talking pictures.
He had never seen anything like this back at home!
"Ah! I'm so tired, I could sleep a whole day," Ohno stretched as they climbed the stairs.
"But we have class first thing tomorrow," Jun said. Ohno just yawned.
"Oh, yeah... what classes do you have tomorrow?"
"I have Charms first," Jun said, looking down at his schedule Professor Domyouji had given them.
"Oh, me too," Ohno said, also looking at his schedule. Jun just smiled, hoping he could befriend Ohno.
The Gryffindor prefect stood in front of a lady portrait. She looked still for a moment, but then she blinked and scratched her nose. "Password?" She asked.
"Hana Yori Dango," the prefect said.
She nodded, pulling out a pink dango to munch on. The portrait swung open to reveal a hidden room: the Gryffindor Common Room. The prefect gave basic instructions and rules of the common room, but no one was really listening.
"Give it up, Shun. They're not gonna remember everything," an older student said, teasing the prefect.
"Shut up, Kimura. You're suppose to be Head Boy," Shun taunted back. But Kimura just shrugged and retreated up the stairs to the boys' dormitory.
"I know him!" Ohno whispered to Jun. "That's Kimura Takuya. He's a seventh year student. I've heard he's a performing wizard with four other students that Professor Johnny grouped together called SMAP."
"Really? Professor Johnny is some sort of show business man?" Jun asked Ohno, suddenly curious.
"All I've heard is that Professor Johnny is a fanatic with dance magic," Ohno shrugged. "So maybe."
"Dance magic? What's that? Is it some kind of entertainment?" Jun asked more questions.
"You don't know?" Ohno asked back, as if it was so obvious to know Dance Magic.
"Uhh... I was born from muggles," Jun nodded, scratching the back of his head. Ohno nodded.
"Dance Magic is the magic of movement," he explained. "Only skilled wizards can master Dance Magic, or DansuMahou. It's for entertainment, and a lot of wizards enjoy watching. That's how a lot of celebrity wizards become famous, as well as in the Muggle World."
"Really?! There are muggle celebrities that are really wizards!?" Jun asked, shocked.
"Sure! The most famous ones are the wizards and witches. Micheal Jackson, Beyonce, Gackt," Ohno counted. "They have the magic."
"Wow! When can we learn DansuMahou?" Jun asked eagerly.
"It's very advanced," Ohno pouted. "We can't take it until we're fourth years."
"Oh," Jun sighed, his shoulders drooping.
"But there are pre-courses we have to take before DansuMahou," Ohno cheered Jun. "Like Singing Magic, or UtaMahou. The magic enforcing voice. I'm interested in that. We can take that next year."
"How do you know so much?"
"My family is full of witches and wizards. My mother loves the entertainment magic business," Ohno said, yawning.
"It's getting late. We should go to bed if we want to be on time tomorrow," Jun said, walking up the stairs with Ohno.
"Mou! Why Charms first?!" Ohno complained. "I wish we started with something interesting like UtaMahou."
"Charms should help us though," Jun replied.
But he agreed. After what Ohno said, he was really interested in the entertainment magic. A career for wizards and witches to be performers, musicians, and actors! Jun couldn't wait to start class. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
* * * * *
"You're late, boys." The Charms Professor glared at Ohno and Jun, who were out of breath from running.
"We... got lost," Jun lied. Actually, they overslept.
"Well now you know where Charms is located. Come sit," he ordered.
Ohno and Jun sat in the only two sits available which was next to the Ravenclaws. Ohno sat next to Sakurai Sho, who just looked up and down at them before scooting his books away from them.
"Now that we're all here... my name is Professor Yamamoto Kei. Charms is a fairly basic class which-"
Ohno yawned as the professor dragged on writing on the chalkboard.
"You can't still be sleepy," Jun whispered to Ohno.
"I can and I will," Ohno smirked, resting on his hands.
"Can you two be quiet," the boy next to Ohno whispered. It was Sakurai Sho.
"Ok, sorry," Ohno said, obviously not sorry. Sho gave a hard look at Ohno before looking away.
"I told you he was nuts," Ohno whispered to Jun as they giggled.
Throughout class, they practiced wrist movements with their new wands. Without even knowing the incantations, someone from Gryffindor already made an explosion from their wand. Poor Nishikido Ryo was covered in soot, and his hair became spiky from the explosion.
"I see that we're gonna have to practice a lot harder with you, Mr. Nishikido," Professor Yamamoto sighed. Ryo just blinked.
Jun heard a snicker and he turned to find the cute girl, Inoue Mao from Ravenclaw, suppressing a giggle. She sat on Sho's other side. Sakurai also chuckled.
"Look at that idiot," Sho whispered to Mao, and they both laughed with the other Ravenclaws.
"Hey, watch who you're laughing at," Jun said, glaring at Sho who glared back.
"You watch yourself," Sho challenged back. "I come from a long line of prestige wizards and witches working for the Ministry of Magic. So watch your tongue if you don't want to get kick out!"
"I like to see you try, shorty," Ohno said, defending Jun.
Suddenly, the bell rang signalling the end of class. Ohno and Jun left still giving Sho mean looks. But Jun noticed Mao smiling instead of glaring at them. He really thought she was cute.
"Mou! Not only he's nuts, but he's a snot too!" Ohno said, angrily.
"Hey, at least he's not in our house. Come on. Next is Herbology with Hufflepuffs. Maybe they're nicer," Jun suggested.
This time, Ohno and Jun were on time as they made their way to the greenhouses. The Hufflepuffs were already there, seeing as their professor is also Hufflepuff's Head of the House, Professor Utsui Ken. Jun sat next to a Hufflepuff boy who smiled at him.
"Hi, my name is Aiba Masaki. Nice to meet you!" He smiled. Jun was a little stunned by the perfect smile and pretty brown hair, but shook hands with him anyway,
"Uhh... my name is Matsumoto Jun."
"Hey, I've heard that name," Ohno said, looking over at Aiba. "Your family owns a wizarding restaurant, right?" he asked, smiling at the mention of food.
Aiba smiled back. "Yes! I do. Have you been there?"
"No, but I'd love to," Ohno nodded.
"You should come! It's right nearby-"
"Class! Let's get started!" Professor Utsui interrupted.
"At least this guy makes sense," Ohno whispered to Jun, pointing to Aiba.
Jun nodded. Aiba was a good guy... and amazingly good-looking! Ohno smirked and shouldered Jun.
"Don't fall in love with him!" he teased.
"Shut up!" Jun pushed Ohno.
Class wasn't much except introducing to magical plants. When class was finally over, there was one more place to go before lunch. Jun looked down at his schedule and smiled.
"Oh, wow! Flying lesson is next," Jun exclaimed. Suddenly, Aiba appeared over his shoulder.
"You have flying next? Me too. Can we go together?" he asked kindly, but Jun was liking Aiba's friendly nature.
"Sure, we can go together," Ohno smiled too.
The three boys walked back to the castle towards the open courtyards. Jun noticed that a mix of all the first year houses were here with Sakurai Sho among them.
"Oh, great. Angry-boy is here too," Ohno mumbled, also seeing Sho. But Jun's eyes were on another boy.
Ninomiya Kazunari stood with a group of cronies around him—looking bored as if he had better things to do. Jun was immediately annoyed by this attitude, but he decided it was best to ignore him.
"Good morning, class." A strict lady walked toward them. She flicked her wand and broomsticks landed in front of each student.
"Good morning, Mizukawa Asami-san," they replied back, excluding the Slytherins.
"Welcome to your first flying lesson. Now, everyone stand on the left side of the broom." Everyone followed her instructions. "Stick your right hand over the broom and say up!"
"Up!" Ohno command, and the broom shot up to his hand. "Whoa!" he gasped.
Jun's broom wobbled back and forth on the ground before it also shot up to his hand. Jun looked down a couple of rows to see Sho desperately trying to order his broom up. But no matter how loud he shouted, the broom didn't budge until finally...
"Ittai!!" Sho cried as the broom shot up, missing his hand and smacked him in the face.
"What an idiot!" Nino laughed out loud with the other Slytherins.
"Shut up!" Aiba snapped back in Sho's defense. "I don't see a broom in your hand!"
Nino just chuckled.
"You're one to talk, big shot." Nino smirked, glancing down at Aiba's empty hand. "I bet the only talent you have is brushing that hideous hair." The Slytherins laughed.
Aiba glared at Nino before looking down at his broom. He held his hand over the broom, and with a strong voice, he commanded. "Up!"
The broom immediately met his hand. Aiba smiled at Nino's sour look. Jun chuckled at the scene.
"Once you have hold of your broom, mount it," Mizukawa continued. "When I blow the whistle, kick off the ground hard. Hover to get the feeling, and rise at least four feet and touch back down. No more higher than four feet. Understand!"
"Yes, Mizukawa-san," the students replied.
"Ready? Three, two, one." Mizukawa blew the whistle and Jun thump the ground as hard as he could.
Immediately the broom soared upward, but Jun managed to control the broom to slow down. He pointed the broom down to go lower. Ohno was just a few feet below him until he leveled with Jun and Aiba as well. A few students were still having a hard time getting higher off the ground—like Sho.
Nino sat lazily with his feet on the broom and resting his hand on the back of the handle stick—as if he was sitting on the ground floor. He looked at ease with his broom which only made Jun jealous. But Aiba was more angry and started shifting on his broom.
"What are you doing? You'll fall." Jun warned Aiba.
"I won't. I can do this," Aiba reassured Jun, but he was dangerously wobbling.
Aiba tried to keep on the same level, but he would soar higher and higher just to put his feet up. Out of the corner of Jun's eye, he saw Nino whispering to his cronies and pulled out his wand. Before Jun could shout to Aiba, Nino pointed his wand at Aiba and a jet of white light hit Aiba's broom.
Aiba suddenly went out of control as his broom went haywire and zoomed across the courtyard. Mizukawa yelled at Aiba, obviously not realizing that Nino hexed Aiba's broom.
Then, Aiba ran into a stone statue with a hard rock hand sticking out. Jun watched with horror as the hand ran deep in Aiba's chest. Everyone gasped and screamed, but the Slytherins, as Aiba fell a good ten feet from the ground. Mizukawa ran to his body and flicked her wand again.
Aiba floated with his back straight as if he was on an invisible stretcher. Jun covered his mouth in shock to see blood coming from his friend's chest and mouth. He was unconscious. Ohno's face was in pure horror as well.
"Everyone will stay on the ground while I take Aiba to the hospital wing. Is that clear?" She demanded and left with the levitating Aiba.
There was a hush silence among the students for a moment, but Jun heard snickering from the Slytherins. He felt a surge of anger as he turned to face Nino, the culprit.
"You'll pay for that, Ninomiya!" Jun yelled. Nino just shrugged.
"It was his own stupid fault. It's not my fault he can't ride a broomstick," Nino mocked.
"What did you do to Aiba?!" Ohno roared.
"I saw him hexing Aiba's broom," Jun said loudly for everyone to hear.
"Prove it," Nino glared. Jun grunted his teeth.
There was no way to prove it!
"I'll race you," Ohno said.
"What?" Nino raising his eyebrow at Ohno.
"Race me," Ohno glared. "If I win, you apologize to Aiba. If you win, then you can walk away."
"Ohno?" Jun gasped, but Nino smirked again.
"Very well." Nino gracefully got on his broom and zoomed up to the sky. Ohno was about to follow but Sho appeared.
"What do you think you're doing?! Did you forget what Mizukawa-san said? Besides, you're only a beginner! You can't fly!" Sho assumed, but Ohno left Sho in the dust as he soared as high as Nino.
"From here to the end of the courtyard," Nino pointed.
"Fine!" Ohno yelled back.
"On your mark... ready... GO!"
The students below roared and cheered as the two racers zoomed across the large courtyard. Jun watched as Ohno took the lead. He clapped and cheered as Ohno made a skillful turn at the end of the courtyard and zoomed his way to the students waiting below. Jun jumped at the easy victory, but he saw a look of horror on Ohno's face again.
"Ohno Satoshi!" A voice yelled over the students.
Jun turned around and felt his eyes widen in surprise. A professor was waiting for Ohno to land, and he had a look like a devil. However, the professor looked young, and he looked very similar to Ohno himself. Sho sighed heavily.
"Oh, no... it's the Head of the Slytherin House," Sho sighed.
"Who is he?" Jun asked, watching Ohno walk towards the professor in defeat.
"His name is Naruse Ryo."
HA! ending here ><
what do you think? a little crossover action here too. lol! i just couldn't help myself.
this chapter was long because it introduces the other arashi members alittle in depth. i hope it shows alittle of the character i drew out for them.
so sho is the typical goody-two shoes and the brains. but obviously our favorite failure at physical ^^
aiba is good at sports, but if nino didn't hex his broom, he's a good active and friendly person
nino obviously is our trickster. we'll see conflict with him ><
and ohno is a brave boy, ne! XD
jun is our main character, but his character will come out soon.
oh! what do you think of my DansuMahou idea? hehe! just a little idea.
